PREGNANCY TIMELINE: WEEK 3

This is actually the first week of pregnancy since fertilization occurred around the middle of the monthly cycle (2 weeks before the next period). The embryo is about 0.006 of an inch long-about the size of a pin head. You won't be experiencing any noticeable changes right now. As a matter of fact, few women know they have conceived at this point, but next week you might suspect!

When the sperm and the egg meet, there is a chromosomal combustion. Genetic information from Mom and Dad combine to form the particular characteristics of the baby. It's all part of our reproductive biology. Take the time to learn more about this fascinating process.

As for your baby, if you want to know if it will have brown eyes or green -- blond hair or brown -- be short or tall -- be a boy or girl... You'll have to wait to find out!
