What is Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology?
Gynecology deals with the diagnosis and treatment of conditions that affect women. However, children and adolescents can also have problems that affect the female reproductive tract. These problems are usually very different depending on the age of the girl or young woman. Our physicians can help sort out what are sometimes complicated situations.
The Center for Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology offers a comprehensive program for evaluation, specialized treatment and follow-up care for unique medical and surgical gynecologic problems of the infant, child, young adolescent and teen by internationally renowned specialists.
Treatment Services
Treatment for ALL types of pediatric and adolescent gynecologic problems including:
- Menstrual disorders
- Recurrent vaginal infections
- Contraceptive issues
- Abnormal bleeding patterns
- Pelvic or abdominal masses
- Pelvic pain and cramping
- Precocious puberty
Interdisciplinary Approach
Gynecologic problems in children and adolescents often require an interdisciplinary approach calling on the skills of the gynecologist, family physician, pediatrician and other health care providers. Medical conditions, medications, psychological concerns, relationship and family issues can all play a role in gynecologic problems of children and adolescents. In fact, many of these issues can be more important than the medical treatment itself. Our Center includes not only highly-trained physicians, but also on-site physical therapy, counseling, and imaging facilities.
Our Goal
We realize that if your child is having a problem, then the problem affects the parents as well. At our Center, every attempt is made to include any treatment method that might be of help to the patient and her family. Healthcare providers from outside the Center are often involved in the management of some patients to maximize the effectiveness of our team approach.

Women's Health Specialists and the Center for Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology are committed to the education of patients, their parents and physicians. Therefore, we provide:

Research and Clinical Trials
Our physicians are continually doing research in many areas of gynecology and have published hundreds of scientific articles. In addition, they are invited speakers to audiences around the country. As they have done for over 25 years, our physicians continue to provide consultation to other physicians and their patients with referrals coming from areas throughout the United States.
